NN.07 opens standalone store in Covent Garden

On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

NN.07, the sustainable menswear brand, has opened its debut UK standalone store in Covent Garden’s Seven Dials as Gandys and Batch London are also set to join the destination.

NN.07, short for ‘No Nationality’, has launched its first standalone UK store in the heart of Covent Garden’s Seven Dials at 7 Earlham Street, spanning 125 sq ft. The new location showcases the brand’s collection of menswear essentials, including trousers, shirts, knitwear and accessories.

The brand is also committed to sustainable consumption, designing made-to-last products from a carefully handpicked selection of responsible materials.

The store has been fitted out in the brand’s signature minimalist style, incorporating contemporary design elements, including natural materials and stainless steel accents.

Adding to Covent Garden’s retail offer is British suit brand, Batch London, which will be opening at 9-11 Shorts Gardens in a 2000 sq ft unit.

Known for its sustainability-driven approach and commitment to ‘The Batch Model’, Batch London aims to build a community of conscious shoppers, making luxury clothing accessible to everyone. The store will offer the brand’s range of exclusively made-to-order menswear and womenswear, including suits, jackets and trousers, as well as personalised one-on-one fit consultations.

Completing the trio of Seven Dials debuts is travel-inspired brand, Gandys, which is set to open at 66 Neal Street. The new 500 sq ft store will be the brand’s only standalone store, featuring a wide range of products including travel clothing, durable backpacks, and carefully crafted accessories.

Astounded by the support of local people after the Gandys founders were orphaned during the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, they built a brand focused on giving back. Today Gandys donates ten per cent of every purchase to support multiple educational projects to help disadvantaged children around the world.

Anders Rahr, CEO of NN.07, said: “The interest and buzz around our brand in the UK is remarkable, and we’re thrilled to bring the full NN.07 experience to the heart of London in vibrant Covent Garden. Opening a flagship store in London is a step in our vision to establish NN.07 in iconic cities globally, where growing interest has created an opportunity for us to carefully select locations and partners that resonate with our vision and values.

“We are excited about the opportunity to meet and connect with the wonderful people of London and building new friendships and becoming an even more integral part of this dynamic community is something we have long been looking forward to.”
