The John Lewis Partnership has announced the appointment of Andy Mounsey as its interim executive director for finance.

Having previously worked at EY for 13 years, he has experience in advising large listed clients globally across the consumer sector.

Mounsey will also join the group’s executive team on 1 July to “facilitate a smooth handover” from Bérengère Michel, the current executive director for finance, who announced in April that she would be leaving JLP after 16 years.

Michel will leave on 6 September, at which point Mounsey will become interim executive director for finance.

According to the retailer group, it has already begun the process to recruit a permanent executive director of finance.

Nish Kankiwala, CEO of JLP, said: “Andy is a highly experienced and valued member of our finance team, with a deep understanding of the Partnership and the retail sector.

“I am delighted that Andy is able to support the Partnership during this interim phase to ensure a smooth transition and our continued focus on executing against our transformation plan.”

Mounsey added: “I’m incredibly privileged to be taking on this role. The Partnership‘s finances are in a healthy position enabling us to invest significantly across the business for our customers.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Board and Executive Team to continue our transformation journey.”
