Dunelm non-executive director exits

Prior to joining Dunelm in 2021, Taaveniku worked as chief offer and supply chain officer at Kingfisher for three years

Dunelm has announced that Arja Taaveniku, an independent non-executive director of the company, has informed the board of her decision to step down from her role at the end of 2024.

The news follows her acceptance of a full-time position as CEO of Home Centre, a home furnishings company in the Middle East.

Prior to joining Dunelm in 2021, Taaveniku worked as chief offer and supply chain officer at Kingfisher for three years.

She also worked for almost two decades at Ikea where she held the positions of a sales leader, global commercial management and project management, global business area director Children’s Ikea and global business area director Kitchen and Dining.

Alison Brittain, Dunelm chair, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Arja for the valuable contribution she has made to the company over the last three years. We have initiated a search for a new independent non-executive director and will provide an update on this process in due course.”
