Natura and Co is considering potentially selling The Body Shop as a result of its poor post-pandemic performance.

The company confirmed in an SEC filing that it was exploring “strategic alternatives” for the business.

JP Morgan analysts believe that a sale is the most likely outcome, with the business being valued at £405m, Natura acquired The Body Shop from L’Oreal in 2017 for £857m.

Natura has been looking to return to profitability through “discipline and deleveraging”.

This news comes after the sale of its Aesop brand to L’Oréal for £2bn back in April.

Natura has faced difficulties with profitability, posting six consecutive quarters of losses, following a series of high profile acquisitions in recent years.

Natura and Co has been contacted for comment.
