Adidas has announced a further release of the sale of a second batch of unsold Yeezy trainers in phases throughout the month of August across the world.
Since terminating the Yeezy partnership in October, Adidas has been exploring multiple scenarios for the potential use of the existing Yeezy inventory.
In May, the group reached an agreement with the rapper to it would sell some of its outstanding Yeezy inventory because destroying it would force the company to write off another €500mn (£431.8m)
It also revealed that it will donate a significant amount to selected organisations working to combat discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.
As with the release in May 2023, the second release will feature products which were initiated in 2022. It will also include the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, 500, and 700 and the Yeezy Slide models.
According to Adidas, the products will be available from 2 August with a phased release “to help manage demand whilst ensuring a fair and premium experience for consumers”. It further stated that availability and timing of release “will also vary depending on location”.
Consumers can also shop through adidas digital platforms including the Confirmed app, Adidas app and adidas.com. Selected adidas wholesale partners will also be a part of this release, through their digital platforms only.
Adidas revealed last week that by the end of the first online sale of Yeezy shoes, which was spread over the end of May and the start of June, exceeded the company’s most optimistic forecast as it received orders worth more than €508m (£438.7m) for 4 million pairs of trainers.
