Inditex to double number of disabled employees
Inditex is targeting having over 2% of its local headcount be disabled employees. This would be ahead of the thresholds in many of the jurisdictions it operates
Zara owner Inditex has announced plans to double its number of disabled employees within the next two years.
The company said it was committed to “boosting the inclusion of people with differing abilities” across its network, aiming to hire over 1,500 professionals.

The group is working with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on its effort to create “inclusive workplaces” where people with disabilities have the equal opportunities to jobs and career development.
Gilbert Houngbo, ILO director-general, said: “Companies increasingly recognise that their Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts must address the inclusion of persons with disabilities to lead to positive and sustainable business changes. The ILO Global Business and Disability Network provides a unique space for enterprises to learn from and support each other on their respective disability inclusion journey.”
