Burberry has announced that Dame Carolyn McCall is set to retire as a non-executive director at the company.
McCall will step down from her role on the board following the close of the financial year on 2 April 2022.
Currently the chief executive at ITV, McCall, has also served a term as chief executive at fellow media firm Guardian Media Group between 2006 and 2010.
Between her Guardian departure and the commencement of her ongoing stint at ITV in 2018, McCall served as chief executive at EasyJet.
Joining Burberry’s board of directors in September 2014, McCall has also served as a non-executive director at Lloyds TSB, New Look, Tesco, and the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy.
Gerry Murphy, chairman at Burberry, said: “I want to thank Carolyn for her outstanding service to Burberry as an independent non-executive director and senior independent director since joining our board in September 2014.”
He added that he looks forward to her “continuing counsel” during the “remainder of her time with us”.
