Amazon expands same-day delivery to 80 towns and cities
The new technologies aim to support employees in their roles, providing them with a safer work environment and upskilling opportunities
Amazon has announced the expansion of its same-day delivery service to 80 towns and cities, with Aberdeen, Middlesbrough, and Plymouth the most recent additions.
Same-day is Amazon’s fastest delivery speed, allowing Prime members to shop millions of products and receive their order conveniently at home, or at a pickup location for no extra cost.
Prime members across the UK can enjoy free same-day deliveries on a wide selection of products, including items from Amazon brands and independent local businesses, with the number of items delivered Same-day doubling since 2023.
Across the UK, some of the most popular items ordered by Prime members for same-day Delivery, include plastic-free water wipes in London, Amazon Fire TV Sticks in Manchester, ink cartridges in Swansea, and hydrating serum in Nottingham.
To find items eligible for same-day delivery, customers can look for items marked ‘Today by 7pm,’ ‘Today by 10pm,’ or ‘Tomorrow by 1pm’, depending on the time the order is placed, on product detail pages on both the Amazon app or website.
The news comes after Amazon announced earlier this year that it is investing more than €700m (£583.5m) in robotics and AI-powered technology in its European fulfilment centre network between 2019 and the end of 2024 to enhance the customer and employee experience.
