Amazon to create over 2000 jobs with new Northampton warehouse
Roles will include engineers, HR and IT, health and safety, finance specialists, as well workers to pick, pack and ship customer orders

Amazon has announced plans to build a new multi-million pound warehouse at the SEGRO Logistics Park Northampton, resulting in more than 2000 jobs.
The Amazon Roboticsย fulfilment centre, near junction 15 of the M1, will be taking customer orders from 2026.
At its launch, the development will create 1,400 new jobs and is expected to rise to more than 2,000 within three years of operation. Roles will include engineers, HR and IT, health and safety, finance specialists, as well workers to pick, pack and ship customer orders.
This new building will be the latest generation fulfilment centre featuring three floors of robotics where products will be stowed and customer orders be picked using advanced technology.
Energy efficiency is also a “top priority” in the construction of the new fulfilment centre, which will feature specialist building management systems which will ensure a “comfortable” working environment for employees at the same time as reducing unnecessary energy consumption.
The group has already invested more than ยฃ56bn in the UK since 2010.
Louise Wall, Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive, said: “Amazon’s investment in Northamptonshire will create thousands of new jobs in one of the most advanced buildings of its type in the world. This is a significant endorsement of the strategic location of the SEGRO Logistics Park Northampton and the importance of our region’s role in the UK logistics industry.”
