Ted Baker’s European arm faces collapse, 149 jobs at risk

The European arm of Ted Baker is reportedly at risk of entering administration with 149 roles at risk.According to Drapers, businesses operating the retailer’s bricks-and-mortar stores in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain are at risk of entering administration. The process is reportedly dependent on each of the country’s systems.
The businesses at risk of collapse include two stores and seven concessions in the Netherlands, two stores in Belgium, and one store and 15 concessions in Spain.
The 149 affected employees have been informed, Drapers reported.
Last month, restructuring firm Teneo was appointed administrator of the fashion group by Russell Downs, the independent director of the operating company, NODL.
The news comes after ABG acquired Ted Baker in 2022 in a £210m deal.
Following its acquisition, Ted Baker entered a brand licensing partnership with Dutch group AARC, which owned and operated Ted Baker’s retail stores and ecommerce platform in the UK and Europe, but this was abandoned in January 2024 due to a dispute.
Ted Baker will close 15 of its 46 UK stores in the coming weeks, affecting 245 jobs.
ABG confirmed the reports but declined to comment.
