Co-op has reopened its store in New Ash Green, Kent yesterday (16 November), following a nine-week programme of works and improvements.
The near 7,000 sq ft store – located on The Row, New Ash Green – supports approaching 30 local jobs, and opens between 7am-10pm between Monday and Saturday, and 10am-4pm on a Sunday.
New Ash Green’s Co-op includes customer car parking, a free ATM, in-store bakery, hot food, Costa coffee machine, parcel collection services with Amazon Lockers, and a range of frozen meals and puddings.
In addition, the branch supports the online delivery of groceries through Deliveroo, with products picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly in the community for added ease and convenience.
Laura Parry, manager of Co-op’s New Ash Green store, said: “We have had a great response – the store has a great new look. Customers have been saying how spacious and bright it feels and we are really enjoying welcoming Members and customers into the store to see all the improvements now we have relaunched.
“Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we’ve worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve and support our community, locally and conveniently. This includes a focus on delivering member-value so that the people who own our business, our members, benefit every time they shop.”
In August, Co-op announced its biggest ever single investment in pricing of £70m, as it extended its ‘member-only’ pricing across everyday essentials. The convenience retailer launched the price investment with a list of nearly 200 fixed lines including milk, eggs and bread.
