ScS appoints new non-executive director

In her new role, Pathakji will become a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees

ScS, the upholstered furniture and flooring retailer, has announced the appointment of Swarupa Pathakji to the role of a non-executive director with effect from 2 May 2023.

In her new role, Pathakji will become a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Pathakji is a director of Kings Yard Arms, where she is chair of the nomination and remuneration committees and a member of the audit and risk committee.

She is also a non-executive director of value retailer OFS (DS) Holdings Ltd where she is chair of the audit committee.

Pathakji previously worked at both Merrill Lynch and, more recently, at Duke Street, a mid-market private equity firm, where she served as a non-executive director on the boards of a number of companies.

Commenting on her appointment, Pathakji said: “I am pleased to be joining SCS at an exciting time for the business. I have been impressed with the strength of the board and the management team and I look forward to working with them to achieve their plans for the future.”

Alan Smith, non-executive chairman of ScS, added: “I am delighted to welcome Swarupa to the ScS board. Her varied financial experience and widespread knowledge of customer-facing businesses will be invaluable to the group.”
