Aldi has increased its hourly pay for colleagues working at Aldi distribution centres, the majority of distribution centre roles are warehouse selectors, who will receive a new minimum rate of £12.66 an hour.
From September, it said all hourly paid colleagues within its warehouses will have received pay rises of up to 9% on their previous January 2022 hourly rates. Around 4,200 logistics colleagues will benefit from the increase, which takes the retailers’ investment in pay this year to around £50m.
All logistics colleagues working outside normal operating hours, such as night shifts, will also see their payments increase from 20% to 25% of their normal hourly rate.
The increase follows the company’s annual pay review which came into effect from February, which saw pay rates across Aldi’s logistics network increase.
It confirmed the new rates exceed the Living Wage Foundation’s recommended real living wage of £9.90 an hour nationally.

Aldi is the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket and has more than 970 stores and 11 regional distribution centres across Britain.
