Burberry names new senior director

Further to the announcement on 13 July 2021, Burberry said it confirms that Dame Carolyn McCall will retire as a non-executive director on 2 April 2022.

British luxury Burberry Group plc has announced that Orna NíChionna has been appointed as senior independent director with effect from 2 April 2022.

According to the brand, NíChionna has been an independent non-executive director since 3 January 2018, she is chair of the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Nomination Committee.

Most recently, Burberry announced the provision of additional funding to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, enabling the distribution of more food, hygiene products, warm clothes and aid to meet urgent and immediate needs.

The brand also donated to Save the Children and UNICEF in support of their Ukraine humanitarian appeals. Both organisations are working to provide essential services including health, protection, education, water and sanitation to millions of children and their families who have crossed into neighbouring countries for safety.
