Made.com CEO to step down

Made.com Group Plc has announced that Philippe Chainieux will step down from his role today as chief executive officer (CEO) of the group and its board for family reasons. Nicola Thompson, currently chief operating officer (COO) of the group, joins the board and will assume the position of Interim CEO with immediate effect, working closely alongside Adrian Evans, chief financial officer (CFO). Thompson has held the role of COO since September 2019, and she has over 20 years of retail experience, and more than 10 years' experience in senior leadership positions within high growth, international e-commerce businesses. Made.com said that with her experience on the executive leadership team and as a “key driver” of the strategy and operations of the group, the board believes she is well placed to fulfil the role of Interim CEO. Susanne Given, chair of Made, said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Philippe for his dedication and hard work over the last nine years, during which he and the Made team have built this exciting, unique and successful digital consumer business. "Nicola is an exceptional colleague and impressive leader, and the board and I look forward to continuing to work with her, alongside Adrian and the rest of the leadership team." Chainieux added: "It is with sadness that I have to pause my professional activities to take care of my family. I am incredibly grateful to have been part of the fantastic success story of Made and I am very proud of what has been achieved over the last nine years. "I have worked closely with Nicola over the past two and a half years, and cannot emphasise enough how instrumental she has been in growing our business, through designing and implementing our strategic plan. I am leaving the business safely in her very capable hands." Thompson said: "I look forward to continuing to work closely with the board and the leadership team to execute our strategy, focusing on enhancing the customer experience, developing our curated range and growing our fantastic brand internationally."
