An analysis of the hygiene ratings of supermarket chains in England has revealed that Aldi has the most highly ranked stores for hygiene, followed by Waitrose and M&S.
The study by Property Inspect used data from the Food Standards Agency to identify the percentage of each supermarket’s stores that received a maximum rating of five in their latest inspection.
It revealed out of 744 stores, 99.73% of Aldi shops are rated a five, followed by Waitrose at 98.24% and M&S at 96.72%.
At the other end of the spectrum, only 88.64% of Co-op stores and 89.62% of Asda supermarkets were rated a five.
