Former Amazon VP joins Ocado as non-executive director
Appointee Nadia Shouraboura joined Amazon in 2004, before exiting in 2012 to found shopping technologies group Hointer
Ocado has announced that former Amazon vice president Nadia Shouraboura will join the group as an independent non-executive director.
Shouraboura, who will take up the role at the start of September, will also be a member of Ocado’s nomination committee.
Shouraboura joined Amazon in 2004, before exiting in 2012 to found shopping technologies group Hointer. During her time at Amazon she served as a member of the management board and also as vice president.
In her new role, Shouraboura said she will be “doing whatever needs to be done”, to assist the online supermarket – including writing code and “solving customer problems”.
Shouraboura said: “Ocado Group has many challenges ahead. The biggest is customer expectations changing fast and the customer having broad demands and expectations and how we meet these.”
Tim Steiner, chief executive officer of Ocado Group, added: “I know she will bring to the role a huge amount of relevant expertise working with high growth, progressive technologies both as an entrepreneur and CEO, and as an expert in AI, software development and robotics, as well as great energy and vision.”
