Kingfisher appoints new chief customer and digital officer
Kingfisher has appointed Jean-Jacques Van Oosten as its new chief customer and digital officer.
Van Oosten joins Kingfisher from The LegoGroup, where he held the role of chief digital officer.
He has also held positions at REWE, Travis Pekins, Tesco and Kingfisher, where he was group IT director from 2005 to 2008. Van Oosten will be based at the Kingfisher head office in Paddington.
Commenting on his appointment, Van Oosten said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Kingfisher after a decade that has seen technology change the world, especially in retail. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on the foundations Kingfisher has established.”
CEO Thierry Garnier added: “[Van Oosten] is an experienced digital leader with a track record of driving change in international companies. He has a key role to play at Kingfisher as we look to accelerate our digital and data capabilities and grow ecommerce sales.”
Kingfisher has over 1,300 stores in nine countries across Europe, Russia and Turkey and has employed over 77,000 employees.
