Loewe opens flagship store in London

Spanish fashion retailer, Loewe, has announced it has opened a new flagship store on New Bond Street in London after a year-long refurbishment project at the premises.

The new three-floor Casa Loewe store will replace the luxury retailerโ€™s Mount Street premises as Loeweโ€™s only London store. The retailer will showcase its latest collections at the store alongside a selection of artwork and homeware. Two other Casa Loewe store types have been opened in Madrid and Tokyo featuring a pop-up space for art installations.

Loewe says artwork will be a permanent fixture of the store, with the first set of work set to include sculptures by Ernst Gamperl, photographs by Alair Gomes, and Grayson Perryโ€™s โ€˜Mum and Dadโ€™ vase.

The retailer said it wants to make the space โ€œa carefully curated environment, a place of luxury, intimacy and cultureโ€, with the interior designed by Jonathan Anderson. The Grade II listed buildingโ€™s refurbishment has seen natural materials used such as cast concrete walls, wood panelling, poured concrete floors and curtains made from linen.
